QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to manage complex academic organizations with multiple educational programs and constituencies, manage the work of highly educated professionals, and manage financial resources in support of academic programs. Typically, incumbents would acquire these abilities through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Ph.D. in a related field and several years’ experience in teaching and curriculum development in higher education, and in managing the work of other faculty as a department head or dean.

Associate Dean
School of Education/Professional Studies and the Graduate Division
Position Description: The Associate Dean supports the Dean in managing the operations and activities
of the School and assists the Dean with the following: semester scheduling including coordination of graduate and undergraduate offerings; graduate student admissions and activities (e.g., recruiting, graduation); budgeting; faculty development; grant writing; research and report writing (e.g., NCATE, Title II); conferencing; outreach; catalog preparation; academic dismissals and appeals; and coordination of public relations materials. The Associate Dean may serve as Certification Officer and process the University’s recommendations for certification of program completers. The Associate Dean also acts
as liaison to the School of Arts and Sciences in such matters as the preparation of teachers. Further responsibilities include acting as liaison with a variety of on-campus offices in coordinating registration and scheduling activities, and to internal and external organizations/agencies as directed by the Dean. Additional activities include participation in distance learning, computer and other technology-related activities, as well as developing and maintaining the School’s Website.
Qualifications: At least three years of relevant administration experience in higher education. Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. Successful candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills, computer skills, and an ability to work in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff. As a member of the Division of Academic Affairs, the Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs will provide the overall leadership and strategic vision for the Financial Aid Office. Program Coordinator
The position reports to the Associate Director of Student Center/Activities and provides leadership and support to students on the Campus Activity Board (CAB) in planning and implementation of a comprehensive calendar of diverse co-curricular programs for students. The Program Coordinator will also advise the Senior Class Committee in fundraising and event planning for senior events and assist in the implementation of the University’s New Student Orientation program.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a combination of skills, including experience in advising student organizations, collaboration with faculty, negotiation and execution of talent contracts, effective application of student leadership development theory, excellent oral/written communication skills and supervisory ability.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required (master’s degree preferred) and knowledge and experience in development of co-curricular student programs is essential. Two years of experience in student organization programming and the ability to relate effectively to students, faculty and staff is required. Director of Counseling and Psychological Services
Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director leads, organizes, develops, administers, and evaluates confidential counseling and psychological services for the student body.
Duties include but are not limited to: Supervising Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff who provide developmental, psycho-educational and outreach/preventative counseling services to students; coordinating and supervising personal counseling services for individuals and groups; and providing leadership to CAPS staff in the development of programming designed to meet student needs. May provide direct service as needed.
Qualifications: A doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field; or an MSW with Connecticut Licensure or eligibility for Connecticut Licensure. Direct experience providing individual and group counseling; five years of counseling experience in a college/university environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated administrative and supervisory abilities and experience in a college counseling setting strongly preferred. Proven effectiveness working with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills essential as are organizational ability, initiative, and flexibility.

Job Descriptio for Residence Hall Director
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs and the immediate direction of the Director of Housing and Residential Life, the Hall Director is responsible for providing a satisfactory living and learning environment for students of the University while working cooperatively in the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of student staff members. This is a live-in position.
DUTIES
I. Student Development
A. Through direct involvement with student works to enhance the development of students in all aspects of residential life.
B. Acts as a general resources person providing and refers students for additional services.
C. Provides academic support under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs.
D. Works cooperatively with the Housing and Residential Life Staff to enforce University Rules and Regulations.
E. Works with the Housing and Residential Life Staff in reporting violations of Rules and Regulations to appropriate judicial personnel and prepares cases and records for the Judicial System as required.
II. Administrative
A. Is aware of the physical condition of the area, reports property damage and physical plan problems and informs the Housing Office whether routine custodial work is being performed.
B. Supervises student staff in routine room inspection and performs an inspection of entire area physical plant prior to Thanksgiving Vacation, Spring Vacation, and before the last week of classes ends in each semester. The Hall Director, in cooperation with the Director of Housing and Residential Life, will perform a final inspection of the physical plant subsequent to departure of all residents.
C. Maintains inventory of all furniture and equipment assigned to the residence area. Reports any missing or damaged equipment immediately. The Hall Director will direct and assist the R.A. Staff and other University Staff in maintaining the facilities in an orderly fashion.
D. Is responsible for changes in room registrations within the hall, during the semester.
E. Shall provide scheduled coverage as assigned by the Director of Housing and Residential Life.
F. Works with student activities within the residence area.
G. Handles other administrative duties such as: key assignments, ordering new keys, requesting rekeying of rooms.
H. Supervises distribution of campus information and campus and off-campus mail to residents.
I. Prepares housing registration information for billing.
J. Develops work schedules for resident assistants within guidelines established.
K. Prepares reports as needed.
L. Represents the Office of Student Affairs and the University by attending workshops and meetings on or off-campus as needed.
M. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
Qualifications: Ability to relate effectively to resident college students and staff. A Bachelor's Degree is required and a Master's preferred. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.

Responsibilities: The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) division is within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. CIT provides primary academic and instructional computing support for the University. Responsibilities: Primary Assignment: All aspects of coaching and program development for a highly competitive women’s volleyball team within institutional, conference and NCAA Division III regulations, inclusive of scheduling, budget management, fundraising, and recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Secondary Assignment: Assist the Sports Information Director in aspects of the college’s sports information office to include the writing of game summaries and press releases; update website; assist in coordination of home events in regards to media operations, statistics and videotaping; and in the preparation of publications. Evidence of successful experience as a head coach or substantial assistant experience in volleyball at the collegiate level as well as evidence of strong recruitment of student-athletes within institutional guidelines. Technical Assistant for Science Departments
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a science field such as: biology, chemistry, hydrology, geology and/or physical sciences. Mechanical aptitude is required; experience in database management is important; experience cataloguing rock and mineral collections, a plus.
Job Description: The Science Building Lab Technician Assistant position is responsible for maintaining health and safety guidelines associated with chemical lab management for biological, physical and environmental earth science departments. He/she is expected to perform the following duties, assisting the Technical Supervisor in preparing labs for 3 departments:
1. Manage inventory of equipment and chemicals.
2. Prepare, clean and maintain lab and field equipment and instruments used in experiments.
3. Prepare chemical reagents and biological media according to formulae, assuming responsibility for their accuracy.
4. Be aware and enforce National Fire Prevention Act, MSDS and New Hampshire bar code system guidelines for health and safety as needed in all lab management activities.
5. Support the work of teachers in classes and lab sessions.
6. Supervise the work of student workers, ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly.
